Booking & dates
How do I book?
Start with the rate card and choose the collection that fits your day. Then send an inquiry — or book a free 15-minute discovery call to meet your regional lead. When you're ready, an invoice secures your date, a 30% non-refundable booking fee confirms it, and a signed contract follows. After booking you'll receive a detailed questionnaire, we assign your lead, and we meet for a pre-production and creative consultation to align on your vision.
When do I meet my photographer / cinematographer?
Once your booking is confirmed we assign your lead photographer or cinematographer and set up a creative consultation via Google Meet — to connect, talk through your vision and plan the day. No strangers on the morning of.
How far ahead should I book?
Popular dates book out well in advance. The earlier you reach out, the better your chance of securing your date — and your preferred lead.
What's the deposit?
A 30% non-refundable booking fee secures your date; the balance is due before the day. Payment details are on your invoice.
Where will the team come from? Do you travel?
We operate from four base cities — Accra, New York, Toronto and Amsterdam — and travel worldwide for destination weddings. Beyond our base cities, travel and accommodation are billed separately, an additional charge applies, and our team arrives at least a day before to rest and prepare.
On the day
Who will shoot my wedding?
A Jema lead photographer or cinematographer from your region — fully equipped and capable of the work you see in our portfolio. You'll meet them after booking, in person at our office or on a Google Meet creative consultation.
Do you cover both ceremonies?
Yes — traditional and white. Our collections are built around the full story, from the knocking and the kente to the last dance.
How many photographers will be there?
It depends on your collection. For 120+ guests we strongly recommend a second photographer, for fuller, calmer coverage. You can also add a creative director — there to keep you picture-ready and to coordinate with your planner, family and other vendors.
When do you arrive and leave?
We arrive 40 minutes before a traditional ceremony, 70 minutes before a white wedding, and 40 minutes before general events. Your booked hours begin when the team reaches the agreed location; if the day runs over, extra hours are billed.
Your photos, films & delivery
What are 'unprocessed JPEGs' / RAWs?
The authentic, straight-from-camera frames, untouched — the day exactly as it unfolded. You receive all of them, plus your edited gallery selected to your collection's count.
When do we get everything?
Unprocessed JPEGs within 7 working days. Your edited online gallery within 21 working days. A film highlight trailer in 21 working days, and the full film up to 90 working days. Albums and physical pieces in 90–120 working days. Each booking includes one film revision round, and express delivery is available at extra cost.
Do you edit every image?
Every delivered image is edited in our signature, true-to-skin style — colour, exposure, cropping and enhancement — and you also receive all the unprocessed JPEGs. Collections marked R# include that number of detailed retouches; additional retouching is available at extra cost.
What's the difference between edited and retouched?
Every image is edited — balanced colour, exposure and cropping in our signature style. Retouching goes further on individual frames: refining skin, hair and makeup, removing distractions, and adding finishing colour grades. Edited is polished; retouched is flawless.
Will our photos be shared online?
Occasionally, for editorial storytelling. If publication is included in your collection, that's a curated feature — up to 10 photos, an optional highlight reel and blog post, published for up to 30 days, then archived at our discretion. If it isn't included, features aren't guaranteed, though we may still publish work of particular editorial value.
Payment & policies
How do I pay?
Your collection is invoiced according to your region and project. We accept major credit and debit cards, bank transfers, PayPal, Zelle, Interac e-Transfer, Mobile Money, and other approved local methods by region. A 30% booking retainer secures your date, with the balance scheduled to your agreement — your dedicated accounts representative will walk you through the options, all set out clearly on your invoice.
What's your cancellation policy?
We hope it never comes to it — but the 30% booking fee is non-refundable. Full terms live in your contract, which we'll always walk you through.
