Privacy Policy

Jema Studios is a wedding photography and film company, operating from base cities in Accra, New York, Toronto and Amsterdam, and serving couples across Ghana, the USA, Canada and Europe. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “Jema Studios” refer to the studio. If you have any questions, you can reach us at hello@jemastudios.com.

Information you give us. When you send an inquiry, book a call, request a session, ask about the Space, or apply to join us, we collect what you share — such as your name, email, phone number, your role (for example bride, groom or planner), partner or couple names, your region and city, your event date(s), and any details you add about your celebration.

Information collected automatically. We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which pages are visited and roughly which region visitors come from, so we can improve the site. We do not build advertising profiles or sell this data. We also use a spam-protection check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on our forms.

We use your information to respond to your inquiry, prepare a quote, schedule a consultation, deliver and improve our services, keep you updated about your booking, and — only where you've agreed — send you journal stories and occasional studio news. We also use it to keep the site secure and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (for marketing email and where requested); the performance of a contract (to deliver the services you book); our legitimate interests (to run and improve the studio and keep it secure); and legal obligations (such as tax and accounting).

Your inquiry is shared with your regional Jema lead and the team supporting your booking. We also rely on trusted service providers who process data on our behalf: Google Workspace (email and calendar), our internal operating system hosted on Supabase, privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible and Vercel), Cloudflare (spam protection), payment processors such as Stripe and Paystack when you make a payment, and accounting software (Zoho). We do not sell your personal information.

We keep cookies to a minimum. Our analytics are designed to be privacy-friendly and don't track you across other websites. We store small preferences (such as your light/dark theme and language) on your own device so the site remembers them. You can clear these at any time in your browser.

Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and you can fine-tune how often you hear from us on our preferences page. Essential emails about a booking you've made — confirmations, schedules and delivery — will still reach you so we can serve you properly.

We keep your information for as long as needed to serve you and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements — after which it is deleted or anonymized.

Because we operate across Ghana, the USA, Canada and Europe, your information may be processed in a country other than your own. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place to protect it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, email hello@jemastudios.com and we'll help. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Our services and site are intended for adults and are not directed at children. Children naturally appear in family and wedding imagery we are commissioned to create; that work is handled under our agreement with you.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard what you share with us.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the date below.
