A Love Celebrated Fully: Miaway & Akos's Four-Day Accra Wedding
Miaway chose Akos, Akos chose Miaway, and they brought the people they love to Accra for four days of tradition, colour and celebration. This is their story.
They Chose Each Other
Beneath all of it, the colour, the crowd, the four days of celebration, was something beautifully simple. Miaway chose Akos. Akos chose Miaway. And they asked the people they love to come to Ghana and watch them say it out loud.

Those people came from across the world. What the two of them built was not a single afternoon but four days, each one different, every one belonging to the same story.

The Welcome
It began the way the best celebrations do, with a room full of arrivals: friends and family who had crossed oceans, an evening of music and easy laughter, the two of them in bright orange stepping out to meet everyone at once. By the water their story glowed in tall lit letters, and dancers in feathers and colour turned a welcome into a party.

Nobody had married anyone yet. That was rather the point. Before the vows and the rites, there was simply time together, the kind that sets the tone for everything after.

The Traditional
Then came the day that makes a marriage real long before any register is signed. Kente and gold, the deep purple of the family cloth, elders seated and smiling, the gifts and the greetings carried in with ceremony. Miaway and Akos wore blush and gold woven with adinkra, and moved through the rites the way you do when your whole family is watching and glad.

There was the spray, and the drumming, and that particular joy that fills a courtyard when two families become one. A royal umbrella turned slowly above them. A bar sign read Drunk in Love, and for one bright afternoon, so was the whole room.

The White Wedding
The white wedding was all light. Akos got ready high above Accra, at the Kempinski, in lace and appliqué with a veil that followed her like weather. An aisle lined in white and orchids, Miaway at the end of it the way grooms wait when they already know, and then the two of them, married, coming down a great staircase with the train pouring behind.

A hand held in the middle of everything. A look across the room. The small moments that lasted only seconds, and will mean more with every passing year.

What followed was pure celebration: a tower of a cake, sparklers, a floor that never emptied, all of it kept in stills and in film so the two of them can step back into it whenever they like.

The Morning After
The last day was slower and greener, and somehow just as full. Orange trees and hanging chairs, the two of them in mustard and gold, friends gathered around long tables with a cocktail in hand and nowhere to be. The big moments were behind them. What was left was the best part, the people, still there, still laughing.

A Love Celebrated Fully
Four days in Ghana, and somewhere between the music and the colour and everyone who came to love them, Miaway and Akos began another chapter together. A love celebrated fully. A story worth remembering, and photographed with care, so they never have to remember it alone.
